Since joining the Council of Europe in 2004, Monaco has worked alongside other member states to promote human rights, democracy and the rule of law. This membership symbolises the Principality's strong commitment on the European stage. Until now, information specific to this partnership has been scattered across various institutional portals.
The absence of a dedicated platform meant that visibility of this historic step was limited. Indeed, prior to this new site, visitors had no central place to access information on Monaco's accession.
To celebrate this 20th anniversary, the challenge was considerable: to create a high-performance, informative and accessible website in record time, capable of highlighting Monaco's commitments and achievements within the Council of Europe. The main objective was to deliver a fully functional platform in one week, while complying with the quality standards imposed by the Monegasque government.
The project therefore required a high degree of agility in terms of design and implementation, with an imperative need for responsiveness in order to adapt to the expectations of the Department of Cultural Affairs and other stakeholders.
The choice of the back-office greatly facilitated the rapid execution of this project. Using the management interface of the Ibexa DXP platform, our teams were able to configure the site tree structure, define the roles and permissions of the administrators, and adapt the name, logo and colours. In just a few steps, the back office created a functional environment, ready to be populated with content.
On the front-office side, the site was designed to offer visitors a simple and intuitive experience, while meeting performance, accessibility and eco-design standards. We have maintained technical and visual consistency with the other institutional platforms.
The success of this website is based on an approach of re-using modules already in place on other government sites. This same methodology has been applied to projects such as the Tour de France 2024 website.
Thanks to Ibexa, the functionalities and modules developed on other sites in the government environment are easily integrated. This means we don't have to do any additional development, and we can get the site online as quickly as possible. This approach is proving to be an effective response to institutional projects with tight deadlines.
